The Castle Hotel - Hotel Shropshire
The Castle Hotel in Bishops Castle, has been offering hotel accommodation in Shropshire since 1760, and in all the intervening years it has hardly changed, still offering an atmosphere of home from home. The three bars, where you can eat and drink, are welcoming, comfortable and full of interesting items such as a selection of traditional pub games. A wood burning stove and an open coal fire supply a warm and cosy feeling during the winter months. Upstairs there are seven very comfortable bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities plus the standard extras.

Olympic Torch Relay to Cross the Iron Bridge
In its 230 year history the world's first iron bridge in Shropshire has been crossed by millions of people, horses, cattle, cars, trucks, members of the Royal family and even an elephant, and on the 30 May 2012 the Olympic Flame will be crossing the famous Iron Bridge at the heart of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, as part of the London 2012 Torch Relay.
